A lot of people don’t have constant peace. Do you know why?
FEAR.
Fear is what stops people from getting peace. Fear of failing. Fear of not being compassionate with yourself. Fear of what others think. Fear of succeeding.
Fear interrupts so much in people’s lives. So, how can you push past your fear into a place of peace?
Accept that you create your story. The way you think about your life matters. Recently, I found myself incredibly anxious about hosting an event at my house. I realized that I had been allowing thoughts of fear flow all day long. So I stopped what I was doing, did a meditation, and reset myself. I changed my mindset to be more positive, then I started looking forward to the event! We create the narratives surrounding situations in our lives. And if we have the power to create our stories, then we have the power to change them too.
Let your feelings move forward. Think about where your fears are coming from, then let them out. Instead of holding your emotions in, notice them, feel them, and then let them go. Don’t harbor your negativity, for positivity is on the way. Allow yourself to start fresh with meditation and deep breathing. Breathe in for 5 seconds, hold, then breathe out for 5 seconds. Repeat for 1-5 minutes. If you have time to complain, then you have time to meditate.
Be compassionate to yourself. This has a lot to do with self-care and boundaries. For example, if you are overcommitted, learn to use the word “no!” You need to take care of yourself. If you are unhappy, tired, and irritable, then everyone else will be too. First, identify where you can be kinder to yourself. Eating? Stress level? Sleep? Relationships? By improving these areas, you will start to release other negative emotions.
Practice spirituality, however this looks for you. If you get in the habit of connecting with your higher power everyday, your peace will slowly come to you, gaining confidence and pushing your fears out. This helps you go about your day feeling at peace that you have a backing in your life.
I hope these steps help you to get rid of the negative and move on. Bad stuff happens, and all we can do is learn and grow from it. We can’t fall into a hole and hold ourselves back. We have to let go of our fears in order to move forward.
