Yesterday, I taught a yoga class called The FALL EQUINOX. This class focuses on the change fall brings as we leave summer behind.
When fall arrives, trees drop their leaves, kids go back to school, and parents become empty nesters once more— not to mention everyone has to let go of the warm weather and prepare for the cold. Shorter days, heavy clothing, and lonely and depressed feelings can deplete us if we’re not careful. So, with each pose, we focused on stillness, used the mantra "let go,” and practiced a plethora of restorative and hip opener poses.
As moms, winter brings about many changes that can cause you to feel overwhelmed, tired of life, and unappreciated. A lot of your energy may get expended unnecessarily if you do not start preparing now.
It’s important that we take time to:
1. Meditate
2. Exercise
3. Drink a warm cup of tea
4. Organize your days
5. Develop a routine
Release the tension you carry on your shoulders, relax your jaw, and imagine you're a tree surrounded by a pile of your fallen leaves. Breathe, and focus on your inward feelings. You have the power to let go, conserve energy and be the best version of yourself.
