It's OKAY!

Welcome to the first blog of 2018.  It’s been a while since I have posted.  I have moved countries and homes and still trying to keep up was hard.  I have wanted to “write a blog,” I dreamt I had “written a blog.”  I made a list of activities and one of them was to “write a blog,”  but it never happened. And you know what, its ok!! Which leads me to the topic of this blog!

Sometimes we set goals for ourselves and don’t accomplish them, because of laziness, lack of time, its not a priority or for many other reasons. Then we beat ourselves up and feel bad and unaccomplished.  I want to let you know that it is okay, not to finish a goal on time.  Obviously, if it is a consistent thing, then we need to talk.  But, every once in a while it is something that we all do, we are only human.  What you need to do is set another date, to accomplish this task and try to be more consistent about this.

Don’t feel down or give yourself a hard time.  In life, we are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them.  Be proud of yourself for once again trying to accomplish your task. Praise yourself for being conscious of it.  Everything comes in due time.

Next time, try taking a deep breath and imagining that you have accomplished the task. Feel the feeling of how you would feel.  How others would feel. How you would look at yourself.  Really imaging and feel it so hard, that you think you have done it. Keep that feeling with you and go for it.  When you feel lost, or down, bring up that feeling again.  Everyday, think of how amazing and a sense of relief and happiness you would feel if you finished your goal.  If you panic or lapse, take a couple of deep breaths and start over.  Sometimes our thoughts also make us feel unworthy and hold us back. Change your negative thoughts to positive ones, once you feel them creeping into your brains.

Remember you are in control.  Life is what you make of it.  Don’t live your life thinking! Be a doer.  I know you can do it!  As for me, I have taken my own advice and finally written my first blog for 2018.  I feel so good.  I hope you can feel just as elated as I am now.  You only have one life, 7 days in one week, 24 hours a day.  How will you shine?
