A mother is the most important person in anyone's life. In many religions, it is said that if you obey your mother and make her happy you go straight to heaven. A mother is someone who always puts her children first -- she will shield them from harm in every way she can.
The love of a mother is great, but so are her responsibilities. Do we as women put too much pressure on ourselves? Why do we make ourselves stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed? How can we, as moms, live positive lives free of fear and emotional tension? Try these tips below and I guarantee that you will see a change in your attitude and your outlook on life.
1. Get up early in the morning, meditate, read the paper, and have a nice cup of green tea. This should be your time to take in some deep breaths before the morning chaos.
2. Look at your kids and feel lucky. Children are a gift and we should be thankful that they were given to us.
3. Remember that this is only a temporary phase in your life so take it with a positive attitude. If someone forgets do their homework, spills juice on their dress, keeps their room messy or plays too many video games, just relax. Think of a positive way approach these situations. Showing your anger and stress will encourage the negative behavior.
4. Take time out for your significant other. All families are bonded together and strengthened by this relationship. If the two of you are in sync, then the rest of your family will fall into place.
5. Invite your friend over for coffee spontaneously. Who cares if the house is a mess or the laundry is not done? Stay in your pajamas and when they come over they'll wish they were wearing theirs too.
6. Make a list of 7 things you would like to do for the week. It could be cooking for your family, movie night at home with kids, playing a board game, get a mani/pedi etc... Put these notes in a box and take them out every morning. Whatever the task, make sure it's competed that day.
7. Take a walk or exercise, and make it your daily routine. If you have small kids and can't go to the gym, find a workout video on You Tube. Don't make excuses.
8. Encourage your family and try and reframe any thoughts that might be limiting.
9. Stop depending on others for your happiness. You need to make a change in yourself. Your future is your own.
10. Take some deep breathes before you sleep at night and write in a nightly journal. Write about your day, what you are grateful for, and little quotes or sayings your kids said to made you laugh.
